  1. So it will 40mph the entire way to Stony Stratford. Are you having a laugh? The entire MK grid system operates at the national speed limit, with redways to cater for bikes and pedestrians but you cant be bothered to properly design access into the new estates in order to match the rest of Milton Keynes. Utterly useless, maybe next time you decide to build a new estate have the infrastructure and roads put in place before you sell the homes…or you could wait until people have moved in, increasing the amount of traffic in the area and THEN close the roads, much smarter that way for sure.

  2. If the current farce is anything to go by V4 will still be closed at the end of this year the contractors could not even start the underpass work on the date given. Traffic rat-running Two Mile Ash at the moment is sheer hell, residents only signs are simply ignored, what is needed is some proper monitoring

  3. Nice post. I was checking constantly this blog and I’m
impressed! Very helpful information specially the
closing section 🙂 I care for such info a lot. I used to be seeking this certain information for a long time.
    Thanks and best of luck.

    Hello,

We are in June now and I see some of the road being paved.
Is there an update on when the works will be completed. It’ll be nearly a year that we have had to work around this extremely disruptive closure.

    regards

  5. So here we are in the middle of August and Watling Street is still closed. Is anyone at MK Council able to give an update on when we might be able to use the road again? It’s been open for around 2,000 years, are you planning on keeping it shut for the next 2,000?
Seriously though, I know we’re living in difficult times but this seems to be taking way too long.

      Hi Tim

appreciate this feels like ages that the roadworks have been going on, and the current COVID-19 situation added some challenges of its own. The current planning for the opening of the V4 is that everything will be completed and ready by the beginning of September and we will have final confirmation of the date by Friday 21st August. We will share the information on our Council website, as well as Facebook page as soon as the precise date has been confirmed.

      1. Thanks for replying.
It doesn’t “feel” like ages, it “actually is” ages.
I can’t find anything on the website about completion, so was it confirmed on 21st August?
I’m looking at this website using Chrome on Windows 10. None of the comments or replies wrap around, so the reader can’t see the full text as it disappears off screen. Could you sort that out, please?
