CO-OPTION OF A COUNCILLOR FOR THE PARISH OF WHITEHOUSE (2021)

WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN OUR COMMUNITY?

A Parish Councillor vacancy has arisen and will be filled by co-option.  If you are interested in serving our community, you must be able to attend evening meetings at least once a month, have a genuine desire to represent the views of our community through involvement in local decision-making.

 

To apply, please complete the attached application form and return the completed form to our Clerk (clerk@whitehouse-pc.org.uk) by 25th June 2021.

Interviews will be held during July 2021

 

Eligibility:

18 years of age, or over, and be a British subject or citizen of the Republic of Ireland

and either:

  • be a local government elector of the parish; or
  • have during the whole of the twelve months preceding the day on which he/she is nominated as a candidate occupied as owner or tenant any land or other premises in the parish; or
  • his/her principal or only place of work, in the twelve months preceding the day on which he/she is nominated as a candidate, is located in the parish; or
  • has resided either in the parish or within 3 miles thereof during the whole of the 12 months preceding the day on which he is nominated as a candidate.

 

Candidates are encouraged to attend any of our Council meetings as observers to see what goes on and for a one-on-one chat about the role of a Councillor, feel free to contact our Chairman on 07716 575 779  or our Clerk on 07780 681316.
